AI-readiness engineering
AI is sending your customers to your competitors.
When people ask ChatGPT or Google AI who to hire, most small businesses are invisible or described wrong. W3Mkt fixes that — we make your business machine-readable, so AI finds you, understands you, and recommends you.
> query: "reliable hvac repair near me"
- source: summitheating.com
- services offered: NOT FOUND
- service area: UNCLEAR
- hours: UNKNOWN
- reviews: 312 — UNREAD
- recommendation: 3 other companies
The truth
Summit Heating & Air
- 22 years in business
- 4.9★ across 312 reviews
- Same-day emergency service
- Licensed, bonded, insured
AI can't see what makes you good. That gap is costing you customers — and it's fixable.
The problem
Your next customer isn't searching. They're asking.
A homeowner with a broken furnace used to type "furnace repair near me" and scroll through ten blue links. Now they ask ChatGPT, Siri, or Google AI one question — "who should I call?" — and get one answer, with two or three names in it.
Those names come from what AI systems can actually read: your website's structure, your business data, your reviews, your consistency across the web. Not how good you are. How legible you are.
Most small businesses fail that test. Their sites were built for human eyes, not machine readers. So the AI either skips them or — worse — describes them wrong: outdated hours, missing services, no service area. The customer never knows you existed.
What buyers do now
People increasingly start with an AI answer, not a search results page. One answer, a few names — everyone else is invisible.
What gets you picked
AI systems recommend businesses they can read and verify: structured data, consistent facts, clear services, cited sources.
What it costs you
Every AI answer that lists your competitors and not you is a job you never got to quote. You don't see the loss — it just never calls.
The demonstration
Watch it happen
Ask an AI assistant for the best company in your trade and city. This is what the answer typically looks like — and where you're missing from it.
> prompt:
"Who's the best HVAC company in Austin?"
Based on reviews and available information, here are the top HVAC companies in Austin:
- 1. Hill Country Air — well-documented services, strong review profile
- 2. Lone Star Climate — clear service area and pricing information
- 3. Austin Comfort Co. — complete business data, frequently cited
Your company: Not mentioned
└ insufficient machine-readable data
Illustrative example — this is the pattern we see when we run real diagnostics. The businesses that show up aren't necessarily better. They're readable.
How it works
From invisible to recommended, in three steps
Step 1 — Free
The AI-Readiness Check
We run your business through the five AIRS dimensions and send you a plain-English readout: what ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI currently see, what's wrong, and what it's costing you. No obligation.
Step 2 — The core project
The AI-Readiness Setup
A one-time engineering project. We rebuild your business data the way machines need it: structured data on your site, one consistent identity across the web, answer-shaped content, and full access for AI crawlers. Done for you, start to finish.
Step 3 — Optional
Ongoing monitoring
AI systems re-crawl and change constantly. We keep watch on how they describe you, catch drift, and keep your data fresh — so the setup keeps paying off.
The Machine-Readable Method™
Engineering, not guesswork
Every business we work on is measured on the AI-Readiness Score (AIRS) — five dimensions that determine whether AI systems can recommend you. We measure, we fix, we re-measure.
Findable
AI crawlers can reach and index your site — nothing important is blocked or hidden behind scripts.
Accurate
What machines read about you — hours, services, location — matches reality everywhere it appears.
Complete
Nothing that wins you the job is missing: services, service area, credentials, experience, reviews.
Clear
Your content is structured so machines can quote it: direct answers, clean hierarchy, no ambiguity.
Cited
Your business is corroborated across the web — consistent profiles and sources AI can cross-reference.
Proof
We hold ourselves to our own score
AIRS 5/5
This site scores 5/5 on its own AI-Readiness Score.
That's not a slogan — it's checkable. View this page's source: every word is server-rendered HTML. Our structured data validates cleanly. Our robots.txt explicitly welcomes every major AI crawler. Ask an AI assistant about AI readiness for small business — this site is engineered to be the answer.
Check it yourself
- View source — full content, no JavaScript required
- Validate our structured data in Google's Rich Results Test
- Read /robots.txt and /llms.txt — AI crawlers explicitly allowed
Client results
We're documenting before-and-after AIRS scores with our first client cohort right now. Real readouts — what AI said before, what it says after — will be published here as they complete.

What is AI readiness?
AI readiness is how well AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI can find, understand, and recommend your business. It comes down to five things: whether AI crawlers can reach your site, whether the facts they read are accurate, whether your information is complete, whether your content is structured clearly enough to quote, and whether other sources on the web corroborate you. A business can be excellent and still be AI-invisible — readiness is about being machine-readable, not about being good at your trade.
How do I get my business to show up in ChatGPT?
AI assistants build recommendations from what they can read and verify: your website's structured data, your business profiles, your reviews, and how consistent those sources are with each other. To show up, your site needs to be crawlable by AI bots, marked up with structured data (Schema.org), explicit about your services and service area, and consistent with your Google Business Profile and other listings. That's exactly what our AI-Readiness Setup does. Nobody can honestly promise a #1 spot — but you can go from unreadable to recommendable.
Is this just SEO with a new name?
No — it's a different target. SEO optimizes for a ranked list of links that a human scrolls; AI readiness optimizes for a machine that reads your business data and composes one answer. Good SEO gets you ranked; AI readiness gets you understood and quoted. There's overlap in the plumbing (crawlability, site quality), but the deliverables are different: entity data, structured markup, answer-shaped content, and cross-web consistency. Most SEO agencies don't touch that layer. We only work on that layer.
How long does it take?
The free check takes us 2 business days to deliver. The AI-Readiness Setup is typically completed within 2–3 weeks. After that, AI systems pick up changes as they re-crawl — usually within a few weeks. You'll see the difference in your before-and-after readout: what AI said about you the day we started versus what it says after the setup propagates.
How much does it cost?
The diagnostic is free — no obligation, no sales pressure. The AI-Readiness Setup is a one-time project fee, quoted with your diagnostic readout so you know exactly what needs fixing before you spend anything. Ongoing monitoring is optional and month-to-month. We don't do long contracts.
Do I need a new website?
Usually not. Most of the work happens in layers you don't see: structured data, metadata, crawler access, and reconciling your business identity across the web. If your current site has structural problems that block machine readability, we'll tell you exactly what they are in the diagnostic — and what the smallest fix is. We fix what's broken; we don't rebuild for the sake of it.
